Our raw honey is harvested at the foothills of Cabinet Mountains in Northwestern Montana. Here the wild flower fields are abundant and the air is clean. This combination creates a perfect environment for honeybees. Our honey is pure, unfiltered and 100% natural.

The wildflowers of Northwestern Montana are some of the most beautiful and distinctive. The blooming season starts in May with the delicate purples of Lewis Flax and the striking yellows of Prairie Coneflower and continues through the summer and into September with a mix of Wild Beebalms, Maximillian Sunflowers, White Prairie Clovers and many others. This mix of plant species provides a continuous source of nectar and pollen needed by pollinators and influences the flavor of honey throughout the season.
Choosing the right type of bees is very important. One needs to consider the regional climate, honey production capabilities and the behavior traits. Our bees are a Carniolan/Italian cross breed, combining the best features of both subspecies. They have a calm and docile manner on the comb, their sense of orientation is arguably the best of any race, their brood is highly resistant to diseases and parasites and they are great honey producers.
Our honey is 100% natural, never heated or filtered, thus still containing all the nutritious enzymes. The color ranges from light yellow to dark amber with the thick and creamy texture and a distinctive Montana flavor. The rich aroma brings a lovely sweetness when added to your favorite foods. For an upgraded experience, simply spread the honey over a buttered toast, swirl it into a cup of tea, drizzle it over nuts or fruit or a savory cheese, add it into the sauces for poultry, meat and fish or just enjoy a spoonful as is!
I am a retired Navy Vietnam veteran, actively serving from 1972 to 1992. I have travelled through all states and chose to settle in Montana because of its abundant beauty and wild landscapes, still very much untouched and unaltered. In 2010 I met a wonderful Russian woman named Svetlana. We spent a lot of time together and went on a month long motorcycle road trip from East to West. After we got married we came back to Montana and built our beautiful household together. We both like to keep busy all day, working on our garden and fruit orchard, taking care of chickens and feeding local deer and elk that come to visit our property.
I noticed that Svetlana really likes honey. There will always be a jar next to her when she would drink tea or have her morning toast. So I decided that I would like to try to make my own, so she can enjoy a 100% natural honey, where i could control the process and make sure the honey keeps all of its health benefits.
I went from 2 to over 30 honeybee colonies. I started building my own hives and frames. I also learned about splitting and combining hives, making my own queens and capturing runaway swarms. What started as a hobby quickly developed into a much larger production that I can now share with my family, friends and others!
